This is the first ever UFC event in Liverpool and will be a momentous night for the city and two local heroes.
The news was announced by No.7 ranked UFC welterweight Darren Till, one of the sport’s brightest young stars who was born and raised in Liverpool. Till is set to headline this historic card in his hometown and will face the greatest test of his career to date when he goes toe-to-toe, over five rounds, with the welterweight division’s No.1 contender Stephen Thompson.
Till will share the spotlight with Molly McCann, who was also born and raised in Liverpool and is set to make her UFC debut on the night. “Meatball” McCann formally holds the Cage Warriors flyweight world title and is one of the most exciting European prospects at 125lbs.
McCann will compete once again at Echo Arena, but on this night she meets Gillian Robertson. 22-year-old Robertson appeared on UFC’s hit 2017 television series The Ultimate Fighter®: A New World Champion, and went on to make her UFC debut in December at the show’s live final, where she submitted Emily Whitmire in the very first round.
If you didn’t manage to get a ticket book a table to watch all the live action.
